I made a desktop calendar for the grandmas and greatgrandmas this year.   One of the features of My Digital Studio that I love is the perpetual calendar.  You can select any month any year, change shape and size,change font, add grid or no grid, change color.  It's great not just for calendars but as an accent to a scrapbook page.

When I made this card I had everything done but the sentiment with the label punch, it was a very blank card but I loved it.  I hadn't decided what the focal point would be yet so I decided on a simple sentiment.  I think it turned out pretty nice.

When the new catalog came out in July I pulled out all of my retired stamp sets and accessories and realized that I have very few neutral colored ribbons.  So one of the first things I put on my wish list was this beautiful crumb cake taffeta ribbon.  It's very luxurious :)

I've realized I've been stamping awhile when I start to see trends come and go...then come back again.  I love the window, peek a boo card, or donut card or whatever you choose to call it.  It makes a quick easy wow!  Punch any shape out of the front of your card then decorate the inside.  I used basic black and soft subtles on this card.  I colored the stamp with my markers so that I could get

The background of this card was made by adhearing the punched circles onto the pink pirouette paper, then I ran it through the big shot using the polka dot embossing folder, then a second time using the striped embossing folder.  I was very happy with the look...it reminds me of fancy wallpaper :)  The stamp is from the "Play on Words" stamp set.

I think markers are the one stamp tool that I use all the time!  I don't know what I would do without them.  When I went to the all day scrapbooking on Saturday I took my markers and one black stamp pad...and it did everything I needed.  Including putting mutiple colors on one stamp.  I also used the marker to create faux stitching.

I used stamps to great a background on this page...just like you would on a regular page...except that I could make the stamps bigger or smaller!  And to make my life easier I did half the page...grouped the circles then copied the group to the other side and did the same with the second page.

Okay I learned something new again... After I created the pink and black flower I was able to "group" them.  Then I could move them on the page together.  It made it so much easier to get them exactly where I wanted them on the page.  Of course I do 2 page spreads so I wanted that flower on the other page too...so copy and paste!

One of the simplest scrapbook lay outs is to use a border on the edge of the page...then use a mat for the most important picture on the page.  This is what I did on this page.  Don't forget to throw in a few accents like the ornament on the top right.

 The silver is duct work tape from the hardware store embossed using embossing folders...quick easy and self adhesive :)

 My first year as a demonstrator I was planning a Christmas card stamp-a-stack and realized I didn't have enough Christmas stamps to make 4 different cards.  I saw an idea to use a small flower stamp in different greens to make a wreath.  I immediately fell in love.  On the original card I used the flower from a retired set called Heartfelt Thanks.  The last five years I have made some variation

Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant Sweet Centers stamp set Cut Tangerine Tango Cardstock using Big Shot and milk carton die.  Then fold all score lines. Apply adhesive to the tab and attach to the inside of box.  Apply adhesive to Old Olive satin ribbon and wrap around the box.  Apply adhesive to the bottom flaps of the box and fold in.  Fill box with candy of your choice.  Close

Sometimes what is old, becomes new again.  I was going through some old cards and I found a card that reminded me of one of my favorite watercolor techniques.  Do you know why it's my favorite?   Because it is so easy. Cut the watercolor paper in half.  Using watercolor crayons lightly color the entire piece of paper starting with the darkest color first. Use aqua painter or paint brush to paint

This card was made using the July 4th stamp set out of the Summer mini catalog.  The stars are great for boy and girl birthday...Stars also work well for baby theme cards.  Color scheme plays a large roll in the feel of the card.  Based on color scheme alone a card can feel more masculine or feminine, adult or child.  Think about who you are making your card for when choosing your colors. When I first looked at the catalog this stamp set jumped out at me. It's called greeting card kids. I love it. I used the aqua pen and the ink pads to water color it...I still need practice doing that. The pumpkin polka dot paper is from the brights prints stack of paper and the button is from the brights button collection. I was never a big fan of the brights collection before the color

A little more bling on this butterfly...love it! I used the paper piercer to free hand a design to look like it was flying. The background was a little plain so I used the elegant lines embossing folder. It has the same fluttery feel that the embossing on the butterfly has.

I think the card is beautiful, but with the black and the pearls is makes me think of a funeral. This card is so simple, but the elegant ribbon and the adhesive pearls really make this card go from blah to wow. Have I told you how much I love the self adhesive rhinestones and pearls...LOVE THEM!!
