Stampin' Up! Training Day

This Saturday I get to attend a Stampin' Up! training day put on by other demonstrators in my group. I'm so excited to go and learn from some of the best demo's in the area. We will talk business, have chocolate and of course stamp. I should come home with lots of great ideas at stamping events there is always swapping. this is my swap for the training day, I made 20 of them. I don't know about other demonstrators but I always get nervous when I'm designing my swaps because I know they are going to be judged by my peers. I hope everyone likes them. Training day and other stamping events are just one of the great perks of being a demonstrator. It feels good to love what you do!!

My husband Steve says that the scalloped punch is the most over used tool. I guess I'm using it too much--what do you thing?

SWAPS

About 4-6 times a year I swap with fellow Stampin' UP! demonstrators. Usually when a new catalog comes out we pick a set and make 4 cards with it. That way we can see different samples using sets that we may not have. It's also great because we all have a different style of stamping. It is through these swaps that I get most of my samples that you all love looking at during workshops. This is one of my swaps using the Happy Heart Day stamp set. I loved this little butterfly. The butterfly in the scalloped circle has dazzling diamonds on it, but it's hard to see in the picture.

1st class at Indpls Library

Last night was my first of about 15 free classes that will be offered at different branches of Marion County Libraries. Check your local branch to see what date I'll be there. Did I mention these classes are FREE! We made three projects. The purple valentine's day card was one of them. I used the Happy Heart Day stamp set. I love this elephant. I didn't want to color him in so I used the "piecing technique". Basically you stamp the image on two different sheets of cardstock. You cut the image out (trying to stay right on the line which I'm not great at) and glue on top of other cardstock. On the purple card I just used a solid color cardstock, on the Taken with teal cardstock I stamped the card stock to make the elephant have a design. This is a lot of fun to do with the designer paper but I'm waiting on my order to come in with my new designer paper so I had to make my own pattern using a wheel. This set is so much fun to use, and is so much more than just Valentine's Day!

Valentine Card Class by Mail

Okay here's the deal with the Class by Mail:

Cost $18 you get the precut cardstock and accesories with the mouse image prestamped for you. What you need to complete the card is some method of coloring and adhesive.

Cost $32 you get the Happy Heart Day Stamp Set, all the precut cardstock and accesories to make the card shown. All you need to complete the card is adhesive, black ink, and some form of coloring.

I will be taking orders for this class until Monday Jan 14th, that way you have would recieve your kit the week of Feb 4th so you would have plenty of time to make the cards.

Happy New Year

As you can see from the lack of blog posts, I've spent the last several weeks enjoying my family. I've just started working again on projects for January. Tomorrow is the New Catalog party. IF you haven't already RSVPd you can still do that today. I'm also working on projects for classes I'm doing at the Marion County libraries and Broadripple park. I'll be posting pictures and dates for that soon.

One of the projects I've been working on is perfect for the new year. it's a magnetic calendar. I ordered the chipboard coasters, which can be used for many different projects, and I ordered the 2008 calendar from a website called http://www.stamponthis.com/ It's a neat website that has lots of different stuff, and they ship fast!!

The time spent with friends calendar will be one of the projects at tomorrow's party. Hope to see you there.
