More Samples from Traning Day

so I promised you more pictures of what we made Saturday at training day so here are a couple. This first card uses one of my favorite color combinations, pink and chocolate. I just love them together. The card base is regal rose, boho background is stamped on the base in chocolate ink. The square is made up of 4 different pretty in pink prints designer paper. The many thanks is one of the new Sale-a-bration stamps and of course you have to use the scalloped punch. The ribbon is chocolate taffeta. I love the taffeta ribbon because it's almost two toned. The edges are slightly lighter than the rest of the ribbon.
The next project was pure genius. If you've ever ordered the designer paper you know it comes with a thin piece of cardboard to make the package sturdier. Well for this project we used that cardboard to create the base of this magnetic notepad holder. The back was cut and we glued two pieces of cardboard together then covered it with the designer paper. We used sticky strip to attach the clothes pin to hold the pencil. You can see we also got to use the new felt flowers to decorate the clothes pin. We used the crop-a-dile to punch a hole at the top for ribbon and to punch two holes in the side to hold the paper. We used sticky magnetic strip for the back. There was no stamping on this project but it was so much fun and so easy. I'm kicking myself for always throwing away that piece of cardboard! p.s. did you know that if you click on the pictures on my blog you get a larger picture and you can see more details ... I just learned that by accident.

Birthday Whimsy

Here's a few more Sale-a-bration samples. These cards all use the Birthday whimsy stamp set. I didn't have a good Birthday stamp set and this worked perfect for male and female cards. it's also very easy to work with because it's a bold stamp. You don't need to watercolor or use markers unless you want to.

I've got more samples but I'll have to show them to you later. I'm still processing information from mini training day.

I'm all Fired UP!!

After spending the day with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators how could I not be all fired up! I'm so inspired by these wonderful ladies. We have ladies in the group that are going full throttle in their business earning cruise with sales and recruiting and we have other ladies that are happy to make their minimums and get the discount and then we have several that fall somewhere in the middle (like me). We all have different ideas to share and it is so much fun to be around people who love stamping as much as you do!

So I'm inspired and ready for Sale-a-bration. I can't wait to show you some of the awesome projects. Here are a few cards using my favorite Scalloped circle punch, and the set that coordinates with it. Remember you can only get this set for FREE during sale-a-bration. It will not be in the fall/winter catalog.

If you haven't already seen the options for Sale-a-bration here is the link to the catalog. Now is the best time of the year to place orders and book workshops. Call to schedule yours!!

Stampin' Up! Training Day

This Saturday I get to attend a Stampin' Up! training day put on by other demonstrators in my group. I'm so excited to go and learn from some of the best demo's in the area. We will talk business, have chocolate and of course stamp. I should come home with lots of great ideas at stamping events there is always swapping. this is my swap for the training day, I made 20 of them. I don't know about other demonstrators but I always get nervous when I'm designing my swaps because I know they are going to be judged by my peers. I hope everyone likes them. Training day and other stamping events are just one of the great perks of being a demonstrator. It feels good to love what you do!!

Stamp Sets: Polka Dots and Blossoms (I think that's what it's called), Define Your Life

Paper: Taken with Teal, Apricot appeal, pumpkin pie cardstock

Ink: pumpkin pie, taken with teal

accessories: scalloped punch, circle punches, double rectangle punch, apricot ribbon, white gel pen, paper piercer.

My husband Steve says that the scalloped punch is the most over used tool. I guess I'm using it too much--what do you thing?

SWAPS

About 4-6 times a year I swap with fellow Stampin' UP! demonstrators. Usually when a new catalog comes out we pick a set and make 4 cards with it. That way we can see different samples using sets that we may not have. It's also great because we all have a different style of stamping. It is through these swaps that I get most of my samples that you all love looking at during workshops. This is one of my swaps using the Happy Heart Day stamp set. I loved this little butterfly. The butterfly in the scalloped circle has dazzling diamonds on it, but it's hard to see in the picture.

Stamp Set: Happy Heart Day
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, very vanilla cardstock
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: blender pen, dazzling diamonds, scalloped punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, chocolate satin ribbon (theater originals)
