Stampin' with my fellow Demos

I love to get together and stamp with my friends and I was lucky enough to spend last Sunday afternoon doing just that. Four of us stamped, chatted and of course we ate. We each designed two projects for the others to make. It's great because we get to play with stamp sets that we may not own ourselves!

The first two cards were designed by Kendra. The pumpkin card uses a technique we learned just a few weeks ago at Regionals. We colored the pumpkin using a little bit of the pastel and mixing it with crystal effects. The skeleton card was so quick and easy, the polk a dot is a window sheet!

Annette designed the bottom card, I love the orange dog!

Pumpkin Patch Versatilty

I love to look at blogs just as much as everyone else. As I was browsing last week I saw a couple cards and had to stop and make these two cards. I got the idea to use the pumpkin patch stamp set to make balloons and Christmas ornaments from Jill's website here. She even has samples of flowers. I never would have thought to do that. My cards are different but the idea is the same.

Emma's Kids Class was a HIT!

We had so much fun Saturday afternoon. I got a huge kick out of my daughter teaching her friends to stamp. She was very proud of the projects she designed and wasn't a bit shy when telling her friends what to do. But I think her favorite part might have been getting to wear my Stampin' UP! apron. All of the kids were happy with their creations, and after stamping we had to have some chocolate! We had brownies as our snack.

Cool embossing folder!

I love this! I tried to get a really good picture that would show the embossing well but I didn't capture how beautiful it is in person. Click on the picture to enlarge it, that will help.
I used shimmery white paper and ran it though the big shot with the embossing folder then used a sponge dauber to rub a little pastel color on the image. Tied a ribbon, stamped a sentiment and voila a beautiful card. Who said making beautiful cards had to be time consuming?

More pastels

I love you use the pastels. They were one of my first purchases, because you got all the colors and you could do so many techniques with them. This technique is the poppin' pastels and old favorite that is often over looked. Stamp the image using versamark and then pounce the pastels onto the image using a sponge or my favorite a sponge dauber. A great way to get multiple colors on one image. I used a wheel for this main focal point. (wheels another great thing often overlooked)
Maybe I should just start blogging about all the old stuff that so many of us have but we never use because we get so excited about the new products.
What's one product or technique that you'd forgotten about or don't use anymore?
