Big shot letters

I used the Big Shot the make the title for this page. I really like how they look, I just haven't figured out the best way to adhere them. I used tombo multi adhesive, which I love, but the letters are so small that I had a hard time not getting glue everywhere. I'm going to have to keep playing, and let you know what works best.

Big Shot Scalloped Envelope

A few weeks ago I got a bunch of new goodies from Stampin' Up! I love opening the box and seeing all the new stuff, the problem is you can't use everything on one project. So this is the first chance I've had to play with the Big shot scalloped envelop die. There are so many things I want to make with it (like the cool box I've seen so many other people make). But the simplest was to use it on this card. I love the way the butterflies look like they are flying out of the envelope!. I used the Great Friend stamp set again. It's beautiful!

Garden Sunshine Simply Scrappin Kit

Many of you know how much I love to use the simply scrappin kits. They are great for fast easy scrapbooks. But they are also great for fast easy cards.

Today I made 16 cards using just 1/2 (yes that's right) of a the Garden Sunshine Simply Scrappin Kit. I added a few accessories and used sentiments from Absolutely Fabulous stamp set and the Hostess level one stamp set.

This card was the first one I made and probably my favorite. I really love the button, which I made using my big shot.

I will be posting more cards that I made in the next few days. I think I'd like to have a class--I think this set of cards would make a great Mother's day gift. Let me know if you are interested in taking this class.

Baby Thank You's with SAB paper and ribbon

This is a gift box I made for a friend who is about to have a baby. It holds 8 thank you cards and envelopes. I used the Sale-a-bration paper and ribbon on this project.

The paper was cut out using the Big Shot and the Top note die.

The giraffe is from the Wild about you stamp set, he is inked in certainly celery then I colored his spots using the markers in bashful blue and so saffron.

Big Shot Boxes

Aren't' these boxes awesome? Two of my fellow demonstrators made them using the big shot box die!! How simple to make favors or gifts for someone using that die. The top box is stamped using the Sale-a-bration stamp "Yummy" I love the swirl! The bottom box is made with the Sale-a-bration paper and showcases the ribbon bundle that you can all get FREE!.

Class project, reworked

Last week I showed you a card that we made at Kristie's workshop, well I had some left over material and wanted to see what I could do with it. this is what I came up with. I really love the texturz plates. They add a sense of elegance. I think this would make a nice wedding card.

Scalloped oval frame

The scalloped oval frame is one of the first dies that I got with the big shot but I haven't used it a lot. I really like the frame it makes. When I made this I was actually using the scraps of what Emma was making. I tied the ribbon around the frame and stamped the flowers on the whisper white cardstock. Then I decided it needed a little bit more umph. So I added the sentiment, punched it with the two oval punches . (Did you know that we are getting a scalloped oval punch, it would go beautifully on this card).

The stamp set and the green ribbon are both Sale-a-bration. I love the sentiment in the botanical blooms set. "To thine own self be kind". We are all hard on ourselves. We need to treat ourselves a little better.

Hit the road with the bike

This card uses the Hit the Road set also but it features the bicycle. One of the great things about the 4 x 4 card is that you are able to create a focal point with a smaller image.

To add a bit of texture the creamy carmel square has been distressed on the edges and the pacific point cardstock was embossed using the Big Shot Texturz plates. These are really easy to use and make a huge difference. If you click on the picture it will enlarge and you'll be able to see the texture a bit better.

Are you tired of "Hit the Road" yet?

I hope not because I still have a couple more cards to share!

This one uses the In colors, pacific point and tangerine tango (perfect combo for a male card). The main image is stamped in pacific point and colored with markers.

I really wanted to create another color layer around the sentiment but when I put the old olive circle under the tangerine circle it covered too much of the jeep image. So the old olive circle is under need the jeep image and the tangerine image is popped up on dimensionals. I really like how it turned out.

HI was created using the Bill Board alphabet die and the big shot. I love that I can spell anything.

My version of Hit the Road

I've been needing to make some swaps using a new stamp set in the catalog, or a Sale-a-bration set. I decide to use Hit the Road. Of course I had to use my new favorite toy, my Big Shot. The top note die makes such a nice easy focal point! I colored the jeep using markers. The sentiment is from the sock monkey stamp set. I realized in making these swaps that I didn't have a lot of simple, fun sentiments. I don't have many sentiment sets at all, so that will have to be on my next order. I punched the sentiment out with the small oval, and used the the large oval to create a border for it. I decided it need to pop a little so I adhered it with dimensionals.

More with Botanical Blooms

I think images look really great in threes. This is a simple layout that could be used with any stamp set. For my background I used the polka dot texturz plate on the so saffron. It's a little hard to see in the picture put it adds a lot in real life.

Coloring with Markers

My markers are used almost every time I stamp. However I'm not a fan of coloring in line images. I like to use my markers to get different colors on a solid image stamp. On this card I used my markers to color the stems garden green, and to color the flowers really rust and apricot appeal. Just remember when you do this to start with the lightest color first and when you are done coloring lightly breath or "Huff" on the stamp so that the ink is remoistened from your breath, then stamp as usual!

Texturz Plates for the Big Shot

So the first time I saw the Big Shot, I said "that's pretty cool" and didn't think too much about it. Then I started seeing some really cool stuff with it, especially the Top Note die. Things like bag toppers, tags, journaling areas for scrapbooks, even owls. so the Big Shot went on my wish list, but it wasn't really at the top of it. Then in the catalog that just came out there were texturz plates. The Big shot went from the middle of my list to the top of my list. I love them!!!!!

This card is a CASE (copy and share everything) from a card in the catalog. I used the season of friendship stamp (from the holiday mini) for the tree. The different circles were punch from all the cardstock that Emma and I played with when we first got the Big Shot. Click on the picture, it will make it bigger and you will be able to see the dry embossed images on the circles!

two different songs in my head

The first is a Billy Joel song "so you think you are a big shot, don't cha . . " I've been singing it ever since my Big Shot arrived on Thursday. And yes, I do feel like a big shot!! Thursday was a snow day for the kids so Emma was home when the UPS guy dropped it off. Both of us ran to the door, and my daughter screamed when we opened it. (I think she may be my first recruit). We immediately started cutting paper it was FABULOUS (oh that just added a third song in my head "fabulous that is my simple request all things fabulous", from High School Musical 2).

Okay the other song that I've been singing is "Celebrate good times, come on!" Are you all singing with me? Because yesterday was the first day of Stampin' UP!s biggest promotion of the year Sale-a-bration!!! Check out the brochure link on the right side of my blog. Waiting on my Big shot!

I've ordered my big shot and I can't wait to play with it. Until then I'll play with some of the pieces that I cut with a friends big shot.

The flower is from Petal Pizazz, and the sentiment is from Garden Whimsy. To kick it up a notch I added the green brads to the center of the flower. It was a little boring before that.

Pockette Sillouette Birthday Cards

I've been using my white embossing powder quite a bit recently. I love the way the white pops on the bold colors. I still don't have my big shot, I plan on it being on my first order of the new catalog. I wanted to wait and see what new dies Stampin' UP is coming out with. I've been hearing lots of buzz from the Leadership training that's going on in Florida. I can't wait until I get my hands on the new catalog.

Oh, sorry I got so excited I got off track. when I was stamping with some friends I used the big shot and cut several pieces and put the in my scrap basket and so I thought I would use them today. The first card uses the top note die, and the second card uses the scalloped circle. The square is one of Stampin' UP's punches.

I used the sentiment from Full of life , honestly after going thru all my current stamp sets it's one of the only birthday sentiments I have that is current. I think I need to put a new Birthday stamp set on my wish list.

I love this last card because it's so simple and beautiful. I stamped happy birthday inside. and the red cardstock is popped up on dimensional.

More with my scraps

I'm still working on clearing my table of the scraps, I just can't get rid of the top note frame. I love the way it looks. And considering I still don't have my own Big Shot I have to be content playing with the scraps that I have left from playing with my friends.

I sometimes struggle using the square rhinestone brads, I use the circles all the time. I like the was this turned out although it's not really a typical card for me. I guess that's one of the great things about only using what's on your table!!

A little says a LOT

This little envelope was made with the big shot and the scalloped envelope die. It is the size of a card you would get with flowers. I needed just a little note for a friend. I think this was perfect. Sometimes when we make cards or gifts we need to remember that less is more.

Snow Swirled Embossed

I don't know why but for some reason I love to emboss Christmas cards. I don't usually emboss all year but I do on Christmas cards--anybody else?

Although this card is heat embossed it is super easy and cheap to make. I used the negative porting of the top note die cut to make a frame, then stamped the image and sentiment in versa mark and embossed using white embossing powder. Simple and beautiful.
