More Swaps

The top two cards and coaster were made by Shirley. The black white and pink is simply stunning. The coaster was made with craft ink, any color, then use clear embossing powder and heat set. So easy. The card above uses the black magic technique that I showed you a few days ago but this is a "brown magic".

These two cards were made by Christy. This stamp set has such a romantic feel. I can't wait to get it myself!

so much to share

I met with my swap sisters on Sunday and had so much fun, got lots of great ideas. The first cards I'm going to show were our shoe box swap. I didn't bring one because I was doing Relay for Life and just didn't get around to making it. (that's one of the things I love about our group is that we all know life and family sometimes get in the way of doing our swaps and we all understand).
This first card was designed by Christy F. The technique is called Black Magic and it's so easy!! Stamp your image onto black cardstock using white craft ink. Use the heat gun to dry the ink then color right on top of it with colored pencils. And let me just say that I was embarrassed to admit to these wonderful ladies that it was the first time I'd every used the pencils.
This next card was designed by Kendra. We cut the cork board out with the top note!! Doesn't this make a great Father's day card. (I also got to borrow the totally tool stamp set so you will be seeing more samples made with that soon, I love my swap group)Shirley designed the last card, it's another technique to get multiple colors on a solid stamp, you ink the whole stamp in the lightest color then use a sponge dauber to add the other colors to the image. I think it looks like it was stenciled. Beautiful!!

Thank you ladies for an inspiring afternoon.

Graduation

Here are a couple graduation cards I made using the bridesmaid paper. I love the swirly white on white design. It made these cards so simple. I matched the colors to the color of the school. I hope my Grads like them.

A simple thanks

here's another card that is simple but with the combo of big shot embossing and a black border it's a beautiful card!!

My daughter made these for our family as thank yous for her birthday gifts. Yes I make my kids write thank you notes for birthday and Christmas!! And when they complain I tell them that next year we'll ask for no gifts so there aren't as many thank yous to write. I really got a kick out of Emma's notes inside this year. When they were smaller I wrote out a "script" to go by but this year she went at it without even asking what to write.
Back to the card, the colors are pretty in pink , melon mambo and basic black. The two pinks really work well together!

I"m learning to use black...

And I really like it.

Black has always been a color that I forgot about. I'm making an effort to use it more because I think makes a clean crisp look. It really anchors the card, especially when you are using light colors like this card; sage shadow and whisper white.
The other thing that makes this very simple card pop is the polka dots (have I told you how much I enjoy embossing with my big shot? Wow!!)
