Simple Stems

I was finally able to spend a little time stamping this weekend. Of course the first thing I had to do after several weeks of not stamping was to clean off my stamp table. It's amazing out things just get piled up there when I'm not stamping on a regular basis.
This is a super quick and easy card. And I love it. I want sit down and mass produce about 20 of them. I used my 1 1/4 in square punch to punch a square centered on the white card base. Then I stamped the flower from Sweet Stems on the inside of the card using basic black. I colored it using the aqua painter and a little ink. Easy as pie!

Oh and of course you can't forget the little black gingham ribbon tied around the side!

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Here in Indianapolis that means RACE WEEKEND! I listened to the race at my sisters house while playing corn hole and getting a little too much sun.

Of course for many this is also graduation weekend. This is a card I made for one of the many graduates this year. I used the bigshot to cut the stars. the sentiment is from the SAB set "Congratulations". And then to add a little bling I used retired eyelets, they are copper which went well with the really rust paper.

Races and graduations are great but this weekend is really about remembering our soldiers. Monday I spent the afternoon with my dad. He is a member of the 82nd Airborne Association. Every year they do a memorial for "The four chaplains". This is an incredible story of four United States Army Chaplins who gave their lives to save other soldiers during the sinking of the USAT Dorchester during WW II. They helped other soldiers board lifeboats and gave up their own life jackets when the supply ran out.

I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all of the soldiers, and their families, who give up so much for the freedoms we take for granted! God Bless You!

Lots of announcements and a contest!

REMINDER: Buy 3 designer papers and get 1 FREE ends May 31st! Don't miss out on this chance to stock up on your favorite paper!

We are coming up on a busy and exciting time for Stampin' Up! The release of the new catalog. Here are a couple things to know.

June 1st--Last Chance list (previously called retired list) will be posted on my blog. The stamp sets listed will be available until June 30th. The accessories list will be posted on June 1st also. The accessories list is only good while supplies last, so if there is something you want place the order right away. I would recommend placing the order online.

July 1st--New Catalog is released. (Look for more info later about getting your catalog for FREE)

Now for the contest: I've always been impressed with my stamper's predictions of what stamps will be carried to the next catalog and what stamps will retire. Post a list of 10 stamp sets that you think will be on the Last Chance list in the comment section of this post. Whoever has the most correct will get to choose a stamp set of their choice out of my retired sets (this includes some hostess sets). They have to be posted my May 31st to count!

slow down for may

Hi Stamping Friends. I just wanted to let you know that I've taken a teaching position at my kids' school for the rest of the school year. Because of that I don't have as much time to stamp so there will be few projects posted. I will still update the blog for any specials.

I should be back to my normal posting schedule in June.

Another note. I will not be taking credit cards for classes or kits for a while. I can still accept credit cards for product. That goes through Stampin' Up!. I'm currently re evaluating some business practices. I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you prefer to pay with credit card for classes and card kits? I always welcome your thoughts and ideas!
