Garden Whimsy

Okay I skipped D and E because I had used those sets recently (Enjoy every moment and Define your life). That brings us to G, Garden Whimsy. The butterfly is stamped on the whisper white square. I also stamped it on a scrap of whisper white, cut it out and mounted it using a deminsional.
Colors Combo: Bashful blue, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede
(the new colors are really growing on me. I love the soft suede)

Butterfly Bithday

I was very happy with the way this card turned out. I don't use alot of black in my cards but I think the black really adds a lot to this one. This is one of the cards we will be making at the birthday stamp-a-stack tuesday March 10th. The cost is $15 to make 10 cards and have a great time. call or email me to reserve your spot.

Waiting on my Big shot!

I've ordered my big shot and I can't wait to play with it. Until then I'll play with some of the pieces that I cut with a friends big shot.

The flower is from Petal Pizazz, and the sentiment is from Garden Whimsy. To kick it up a notch I added the green brads to the center of the flower. It was a little boring before that.

2-4-6-8 boxes

Recently I've been showing a lot of cards. But one of my favorite things to make is gifts, and goodie bags. I love making little goodie bags for the kids classes, wedding showers, baby showers and just little one to say hi I'm thinking about you. These 2-4-6-8 boxes are the perfect size to put a few pieces of candy in and make some one's day. Here are two versions: The first one is one I made. And I punched holes in the top so I could tie it together to give it a milk carton look.

This one I got from one of my very talented swap buddies, Christy. Isn't it beautiful. She put a handle on hers with brads on each side then tied a tag on top. Wouldn't this be cute at each persons place setting at Thanksgiving? (Okay I know I go over the top sometimes...but it would really be cute)

Here are the basic instructions:
1. Cut cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (the size of a typical card)
2. Score lengthwise at 1 1/2 inch (this will be the bottom)
3. Score widthwise at 2 in, 4 in, 6 in, and 8in (now you see where it got it's name)
this will give you a 1/2 inch flap to adhere the cardstock to.
4. Decorate the card as you see fit
5. attach sticky strip to the 1/2 flap , adhere that to the other side of the cardstock.
6. Cut the score lines from the bottom to the score line you make lengthwise, fold those up and adhere to each other using sticky strip (this will make the bottom of your box.
I'm not really great at instructions so let me know if you have questions. I hope you will try one yourself.

Garden Whimsy--New to me

I know many of you are salavating for more samples of the new stuff--well Garden Whimsy is new to me. I have wanted it since the first time I saw it but for some reason I kept spending my money on cool tools and punches instead of stamp sets. Last month I entered a drawing by supmitting samples to my up-up-upline and I won a free stamp set so this is the one I chose. I love it. It is so easy to use!

I did use the new scalloped edge punch on this card and a little bit of Kiwi kiss. The colors are real red, kiwi kiss, summer sun and taken with teal. It just gives me a happy feeling to look at it!

This card uses taken with teal and real red with a little bit of black to ground it.
