Garden Sunshine Simply Scrappin Kit

Many of you know how much I love to use the simply scrappin kits. They are great for fast easy scrapbooks. But they are also great for fast easy cards.

Today I made 16 cards using just 1/2 (yes that's right) of a the Garden Sunshine Simply Scrappin Kit. I added a few accessories and used sentiments from Absolutely Fabulous stamp set and the Hostess level one stamp set.

This card was the first one I made and probably my favorite. I really love the button, which I made using my big shot.

I will be posting more cards that I made in the next few days. I think I'd like to have a class--I think this set of cards would make a great Mother's day gift. Let me know if you are interested in taking this class.

Many Mower

I've never really had a good stamp set for Father's day or Male Birthday. So when I saw this set in the Occasions mini I decided I had to have it!

This card is very simple, I stamped the image with basic black then colored using my beloved markers. To add a little bling with out being girly I used the pumpkin pie corduroy buttons (that are actually brads).

The designer paper is Washington apple, another very versatile paper with both stripes and floral print, and the colors can be used for both boys and girls (pumpkin pie, bashful blue, so saffron and riding hood red).

April Card Kit-up close and personal

Card Kit in the Mail--April

Starting in April I'm going to begin offering a Card Kit every month. This kit will include the following:

• Cardstock pre cut to make 8 cards (2 of each design)
• 8 Envelopes
• Ribbon, hardware and other embellishments
• die cuts and punched cardstock

To complete the projects you will need to have ink, adhesive, a stamp set and possibly a few minimal tools.

The cost will be $15

You will have the option to either pick the kit up at my home, or you can have it mailed to you for $5 priority mail.

All orders must be placed by the 15th of the month and will be available for pick up or mailed by the end of the month.

The April kit features the Very Versatile stampset. If you order the stamp set you will get the kit at the discounted price of $10.

I will post individual pictures of each card and options for using other stamp sets in the next few days.

great friend-occasions sneek peek

I received a box of goodies last week! It was full of stamp sets from the Occasions mini that will be available April 1st. I also got more SAB stamp sets. I didn't have Yummy or Congratulations so I was excited to get those and play with them. (I'll be posting samples later).

This card uses the new stamp set Great Friend. I had a lot of fun playing with it. The color combo came from splitcoast stampers color challenges. I went back to some of the early challenges that don't include the in colors. I realized I've been neglecting some colors. This is so saffron, mellow moss and bravo burgundy. the ribbon is from the SAB ribbon bundle.

Annette's Beautful Cards!

Aren't these incredible? These were made by my fellow demonstrator Annette Harling. She is also in my Swap group. Being in a swap group is so fun, because when you go to the mailbox and see that package it's like Christmas or your birthday!

Several of Annette's cards featured items from the pretties kit, which I have and love. But I admit I don't use very often because I forget about it.

I love the halfbacked pearls on the side, I've done that with brads but never pearls. Thanks for the great idea!

This card is so simple, and yet elegant!

Being part of this swap group is a great perk of being a demonstrator. But you don't have to be a demonstrator to be in a swap group. If you are interested in swapping cards with fellow stampers let me know. It would be fun just to fill your card box!

More Baby Cards

I have a hard time packing to scrapbook at a crop, so when I was planning for the Relay for Life Crop last Sunday I decided I would make cards instead of scrapbook while I was there. I looked in my card box and I didn't have any baby cards! This made packing much easier, I picked a few baby sets, the SAB paper was perfect for my color scheme, so I knew what color paper, ink and accessories to bring. I still had to make some hard decisions like what punches

I used different accessories on each card but same idea and color scheme. During the scrapbooking crop I also made the baby thank you cards and gift box that you saw a few days ago (same color scheme).

Samples from a sister Demo

I've talked before about SWAPS. I'm in a swap group that has now grown to 8 (I think). When there are new catalogs or products introduced we will each take something from say the new catalog and make four card with it. Then we send those four cards to everyone in the swap group. This is great for many different reasons, everyone has their own style and what one person might love, I won't buy. Then I see it in use and I fall in love. It's also nice to swap so that I can have lots of samples to show you. I know that at workshops that's one of the things that people love is going thru the samples.


These are some cards I received last week from Christy Fulk. She is a fabulous stamper. I always love to see what she comes up with!

These two cards use the new corduroy buttons. I love them. I haven't gotten to play with them yet (I just ordered them so I'll be playing soon) but because of swapping I'm able to see them up close and personal, and so are my customers.

Scrapbooking Crop for Relay for Life

On Sunday I attended a crop to raise money for Relay for Life (American Cancer Society). All the scrappers were able to make a 6x6 page using the Polka-dot punch stamp set. After the crop I had quite a bit of cardstock already cut, so I made some cards using the same design!

Baby Thank You's with SAB paper and ribbon

This is a gift box I made for a friend who is about to have a baby. It holds 8 thank you cards and envelopes. I used the Sale-a-bration paper and ribbon on this project.

The paper was cut out using the Big Shot and the Top note die.

The giraffe is from the Wild about you stamp set, he is inked in certainly celery then I colored his spots using the markers in bashful blue and so saffron.

Big Shot Boxes

Aren't' these boxes awesome? Two of my fellow demonstrators made them using the big shot box die!! How simple to make favors or gifts for someone using that die. Make a Card Monday

Monday the 16th at 6:30 I will be having "Make a Card Monday" come make 3 simple cards for $5. This is a great Girls night out! so grab your friends and come have a great time!

This is a simple card using the SAB botanical blooms stamp set, and some of Stampin' UP!'s great punches.

Class project, reworked

Last week I showed you a card that we made at Kristie's workshop, well I had some left over material and wanted to see what I could do with it. this is what I came up with. I really love the texturz plates. They add a sense of elegance. I think this would make a nice wedding card.

Sale-a-Bration CASE

Do you know what CASE stand for? Copy And Share Everything. A lot of people say "where do you get your ideas?" I don't come up with many on my own. I get them from the catalog, the magazine that Stampin' UP! send demonstrators every month. I get them from fellow demonstrators and I get ideas from blogs just like you do. This card is a case from the front of the Sale-a-Bration catalog. The colors are a little different but the card is basically the same.

I encourage you to find a card that you like and CASE it. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, maybe you use the lay out, or the color scheme and make it your own. It can be stressful to sit down with a stack of stamps and a blank piece of cardstock and think "what do I do now?" So take some of the stress out by finding inspiration and CASEing someone else.

Scalloped oval frame

The scalloped oval frame is one of the first dies that I got with the big shot but I haven't used it a lot. I really like the frame it makes. When I made this I was actually using the scraps of what Emma was making. I tied the ribbon around the frame and stamped the flowers on the whisper white cardstock. Then I decided it needed a little bit more umph. So I added the sentiment, punched it with the two oval punches . (Did you know that we are getting a scalloped oval punch, it would go beautifully on this card).

The stamp set and the green ribbon are both Sale-a-bration. I love the sentiment in the botanical blooms set. "To thine own self be kind". We are all hard on ourselves. We need to treat ourselves a little better.

Blue and Gold Invitation

Saturday night was my son Caleb's Blue and Gold banquet. This is the Cub Scouts annual award banquet. I've made the invites and the programs the last two years. I like to keep it fairly simple since I'm making a lot of them.

I think this is one of the simplest and most common lay outs. For those of you that are fairly new to stamping I encourage you to use this layout. Instead of a star you could have a square or rectangle with your main image. You could use ribbon instead of the blue strip of paper. Instead of a stampin' round wheel image at the bottom you could use patterned paper.

Stamping with Friends

Friday night I spent the evening stamping with two old friends. It was so much fun to catch up with both of them.

This is one of the card I made while we were stamping. The card base is Whisper White Card stock. I've been using this as my card base a lot recently because I really like the clean white border. The background is garden green designer series paper from the level one hostess set.

The stamp is one of my favorites, Upsy Daisy. It's so easy to use. Now matter what color or technique you use it's beautiful.

Top note makes everything simple

This card couldn't be easier. While I was making it I pulled out ribbon, brads, buttons, but I liked it just the way it was.

Butterfly Bithday

I was very happy with the way this card turned out. I don't use alot of black in my cards but I think the black really adds a lot to this one. Texturz Peek-a-boo card

This is a card that wee made at Kristie's workshop last week. I really love how it turned out and it was so simple to make!! The card base is pale plum cardstock and we ran it thru the big shot using one of the texture plates. This dry embossed the entire front of the card. Then we used the wide oval punch to punch the oval on the bottom right. A 4x 51/4 piece of whisper white cardstock was placed inside the card. To make sure you have perfect placement of the flower in the oval window we took a scrap of paper and punched an oval out. Then lay the scrap down over the oval window and stamp thru the window onto the white cardstock. Clear as mud, right? I really need to learn how to make tutorials!
